This is a custom-made biltong maker in pine with a perspex window. It can be personalised.

The box works with a fan only. It needs to be used in a warm environment (indoors preferably) with low humidity. This is the perfect box if you’re new to making your own biltong & want to give it a go. This is the perfect starter pack!

It is a misconception that heat is the key ingredient that dries the biltong. Heat is required to lower the humidity as here our British climate is very humid compared to Africa, it is the airflow that dries the biltong. After all, the whole concept of biltong is it being air-dried, so don’t worry too much about the heat, we aren’t wanting to cook it!

This box can hold up to 3kgs of wet meat, fish, fruit or herbs at one time.

Drying time is 4 to 5 days depending on what is being dried and your preference.

This is a low-energy drying box. It works on less than 20W.

Please note, the box arrives with you completely made apart from the outside handle. This is included in the package for you to attach when you receive your order. We do this so that this is not damaged during transit.

Our brand is ‘rustic’ and pictures are for reference only. As each box is handmade, no two are the same and they will vary compared to each other and the picture.

**Almost all of our products are handmade from natural pine wood. Pine is a softwood and although it resists shrinking and swelling, due to the nature in which the box is being used it will move and warp from temperature, humidity, moisture and airflow over time. This will not affect the drying process or how the box works.**
